Character descriptions:
(Quoted directly from booklet; I am not responsible for some of the bad
English =)  )

Lion
----
Lion Rafale Toroken
Nationality/France
Having been born to the Rafale family, one of the most wealthy families in
France, which is in the aircraft industry and at the same time secretly
developing arms behind their official business, LION has been practicing
Toroken under an instructor as part of management education from his
childhood. In his youth, he increasingly had an antipathy against his
father's dictatorship. During some of their arguments, his father proposed
to
LION to win the Tournament as a prerequisite to become free from him. Thus,
LION is participating in the tournament competition.

Akira
-----
Akira Yuki Hakkyokuken
Nationality/Japan
The only person to whom the ultimate martial art (complemented on the basis
of
the Chinese "Hakkyokuken") is handed down. Realizing that last time he
lacked
experience, Akira is now testing the results of his hand training for the
last
year.

Jeffry
------
Jeffry McWild Pancratium
Nationality/Australia
A fisherman who mastered Pancratium on his own. He had his newly built boat
destroyed by an evil shark. He is participating again in the competition to
earn him the prize money.

Wolf
----
Wolf Hawkfield Pro-wrestling
Nationality/Canada
Being an Indian descendant, he has Herculean strength. He is determined to
fight again against Akira, an opponent he fought with at the last tournament.

Shun
----
Shun Di Suiken
Nationality/China
While drinking with his friends, SHUN hears them boasting about the success
of
their student fighters in recent tournament competitions and suddenly says,
"I
also want to participate in the tournament." SHUN's friends pleaded with him
not to, but once SHUN had mentioned his intent to fight, he was reluctant to
change his mind and eventually he joined the tournament.

Kage
----
Kagemaru Hagakureryu Jujutsu
Nationality/Japan
Kage, whose specialty is Jujutsu, is fighting against the Syndicate that
killed his father and took his mother away and made her one of their
fighters.

Lau
---
Lau Chan Koenken
Nationality/China
The strongest fighter and winner of the last Tournament. In his efforts to
complement the ultimate fighting art he participates in the competition. He
used advanced "Koenken" techniques.

Pai
---
Pai Chan Enseiken
Nationality/Hong Kong
Being determined to defeat (this time for sure) her father who has been
pursuit of his own ideals at the sacrifice of his family, PAI has been on
hard
training. Her specialty is Enseiken.

Jacky
-----
Jacky Bryant Jeet Kune Do
Nationality/USA
In his effort to seek revenge on the Syndicate and rescue his sister Sarah,
he
participates again in the Tournament using Jeet Kune Do in which he has the
skill of an instructor.

Sarah
-----
Sarah Bryant Jeet Kune Do
Nationality/USA
Sarah is captured, hypnotized and further trained by the Syndicate to become
the strongest fighting machine in order to kill her elder brother Jacky.

Buyer's notes: The price of this CD varies from store to store. As I first
heard the availability of this product I rushed to purchased it no matter
what
the cost was ($50 in this case). $50 for this CD definitely IS overcharging,
so if a store is selling it for upwards of this amount I suggest you look
elsewhere. Cases of it being as low as $20 have been sighted.

Make sure the store from which you order the CD has it in stock, unless you
don't mind waiting (and waiting, and waiting...). My ordering it from a
certain store () resulted in well over a month
wait.

MY OPINION ABOUT THIS CD

Basically, I think this is a great CD and a must buy for people who are
really
into VF. I, certainly, am glad I purchased this despite the high cost of
doing so. The downside to the music is that much of it is just not as
original as the VF1 BGM. In the original, each of the character's tunes were
quite distinct and gave each character his/her own very distinct personality.

In VF2, many of the tracks (not all, however) are a bit more similar to each
other, and they do not portray the characters as well. Despite this, I do
find myself listening to the VF2 CD a lot.

Of all the character tracks on the CD, I find myself enjoying Lau, Shun, and
Jacky's the most. Lau's for the "catchyness," Shun's for the originality and
spirit, and my liking of the Jacky theme is due to its reminiscent qualities
of the VF1 Jacky's "upbeatness." Although there certainly isn't any
particularly bad tracks, there exists a few themes that seem to have gone
downhill from VF1 (Kage and Wolf come to mind). The rest of the character
tracks are for the most part, unremarkable.

Main title music is nice and fitting for the attract mode demo. Character
select should have been given greater emphasis. Dural is good, and then of
course there's the end/bonus tunes which are all mighty fine.

Well, that's about it. If you wish for some information about any of the
other vidgame music CDs I have (currently: VF1, VF2, SS, D/USA, & Front
Mission), please ask.
